RoC Dirt Tour Point Distribution

2012 RACE OF CHAMPIONS DIRT TOUR GENERAL INFORMATION

POINTS DISTRIBUTION: Points will be awarded at each event as listed below. Drivers will earn 5 additional points for each heat win.  Heat points will count toward regional points and also be carried over to the final overall point breakdown based on best region. A 25 point bonus will be added to the overall point breakdown for any team that competes in all of the events leading up to the final 2 combination events.  Heat wins will only be carried over from a driver’s best region.

REGIONAL POINTS:  The 2012 RoC Dirt Modified Tour will be broken in to two regions (north and south).  At the conclusion of each region teams will be awarded championship points based on best finishing order within a region. Example – John Doe finishes first in south region and fifth in north region. He will start the overall championship title with 500 points based on his higher status in the south region.  John Doe will also see his heat win bonuses added and the 25 point bonus if he attended all races on the tour.

POINT FUND: One point fund will be paid out to the overall top 12 drivers in the final point standings of the Dirt Modified series. Each region will pay an individual point fund to the top five finishing teams in each region. Drivers must attend the season ending banquet in order to be eligible for point fund money. There are no exceptions to this. The top 10 drivers in the final Sportsman and Street Stock points are eligible for point fund money.

PRE-RACE ENTRY: A pre-race entry fee will be posted at each tour event. That fee will increase by $5 after the posted pre-race entry fee deadline. The pre-race entry fee for Sportsman will be $10.  A Street Stock entry may be required at events.

MEMBERSHIP: A tour membership will be available for teams that wish not to pay the individual entry fee per event. Teams with the membership will automatically be entered in all events and will avoid the hassle of filling out individual entry forms. Mod cost: $270 (saves $50), Sportsman cost: $110. (Modified membership does not include May Utica Rome event entry)

PROMOTER TRACK REP STARTER OPTION: Each participating track promoter may designate 1 driver as a representative starter at each event on the tour. Each participating speedway must file driver representative in writing and on speedway letterhead. This is to ensure that each participating facility has one representative in the starting field. If a track representative is not present at the event to confirm addition, absolutely no driver will be added without prior written consent. Responsibility falls on driver and speedway to send prior notification. This is not a tour responsibility.   If a participating speedway already has a driver in the starting feature field they may not add any other track rep. unless written prior.  The track rep. driver must forfeit last place money if they are added to the event without prior qualifying.

DRIVER BUY IN PROGRAM: The top-10 drivers in the point standings have a “buy-in” opportunity at each event. That driver must pay last place starting money to ensure that position after qualifying. Only two “buy-in” drivers will be permitted at each event and will be based on placement in points from 1st to 10th place. 2011 top-10 drivers in overall points may use this opportunity at first race of 2012. Maximum of two drivers can utilize the "buy-in" based on current point standings in order of points.  Last place money is forfeited.

SELINSGROVE SPEEDWAY March:  A driver’s top finish from either the Small Block event on Friday or the Big Block event on Saturday will count toward both regional point tallies.  Only your best finish of the two days will count.  Heat wins from either day will also count toward both regions and the overall point breakdown.
