RACE OF CHAMPIONS DART DIRT MODIFIED TOUR RACE NUMBER 3 THE VICTORIA 200 TO TAKE PLACE ON MEMORIAL DAY AT UTICA - ROME

Binghamton, NY … After being rained out on Mother’s Day the tradition rich Victoria 200 takes place this Monday May 31st at the Utica – Rome Speedway in Vernon, NY, this race is the third in the 2010 Race of Champions Dart Dirt Modified Tour. The 200 lap feature that is run in 100 lap segments pays a hefty $10,000 to win and sees $1,000 being paid just to take the Victoria 200 feature green flag.


Utica – Rome owner Gene Cole, his G. M. Barb Clark and the rest of the friendly track staff always rolls out the red carpet for the RoC travelers at the Victoria 200. As usual there will be some special awards being presented after the feature courtesy of Utica – Rome Speedway and Dart Machinery.
All non – qualifiers will have an opportunity to race in the B Main where the winner can either take the $1,200 to win purse money home with them or forfeit that money and start last in the Victoria 200.

A new contingency program for the Race of Champions Dart Dirt Modified Tour will make its debut on this day in conjunction with the American Racer East Coast Modified Cup. All drivers who are entered in the American Racer ECM Cup are elgible for a set of Dart Heads. A randomly drawn driver will win courtesy of Dart Machinery a set of heads valued at $1,500.


The 2010 racing season for the Race of Champions Dart Dirt Modified Tour started the season out in March with two very successful shows at the Selinsgrove Speedway. Currently there is a three way tie for the point lead between three time and defending RoC Dart Dirt Champion Pat Ward, Matt Sheppard who is a guaranteed starter for the Victoria 200 by virtue of his win at Selinsgrove, and Oley, Pennsylvania driver Duane Howard.


Because this race takes place on Memorial Day Utica – Rome management realizes that everyone will have to go back to work the following day. Track management will be sticking to their time schedule as close as possible to ensure everyone a decent hour to the ending of the races.


All gates are slated to open at Noon on Sunday May 31st with the heat race draw slated to close at 2:30 in the afternoon. Hot laps are scheduled to start at 3:15 with the first heat taking the green at four in the afternoon. A complete show of heats, consi’s, a B Main, and the 200 lap feature will take place at the “Action Track of the East.“
